And just as I moved, my Mum decided to turn 60 which caused me a great deal of stress given I wasn't able to make her her cake. Which I had planned to have sing to her as she cut it open and fireworks explode off the top. Luckily in Melbourne there are some absolute gems who can bake the most beautiful creations and convince me that fireworks are not necessary. And the gem I commissioned for Mum was Natasha from @butterbaking. Natasha is star. I love her and she's a good friend of mine. I've followed her since she basically started and her work is art. She made this heavenly flourless orange cake with mascarpone cream, berries and flowers and the only regret I have is not flying home to put a big slice in my gob.
